Commercial Auto Insurance

Your vehicles. Your drivers. Your exposure.

A work truck rear-ends someone at a light. An employee runs an errand for you in her own car and causes an injury. A rented van gets damaged on a job. Commercial auto covers the vehicles your business owns, and with the right endorsement, the ones it doesn't. That second part is where we find the most gaps, because a personal auto policy usually excludes business use and your employee's insurer will say so quickly.

How we work

What a commercial advisor should actually do.

Your advisor

A named human, not a 1-800 number.

You get one advisor who learns your operation, knows your team, and remembers what happened at the last renewal. Same person at year five as at year one.

Proactive reviews

We call before renewal, not after a problem.

Annual proactive reviews. Quarterly check-ins for fast-growth clients. If you opened a new location, hired your fiftieth employee, or signed a major contract, we want to know before your policy does.

Carrier breadth

Independent access to diverse markets.

We're not tied to one carrier's appetite. Travelers, Liberty Mutual, Hartford, Cincinnati, Chubb, and dozens of other standard and specialty markets, we shop where your risk profile actually fits.

One roof

Commercial, benefits, and personal - coordinated.

Your business coverage, your team's benefits, and your personal insurance can all live under one advisory relationship. No more retelling your story to three different people.

What it covers

What commercial auto actually pays for.

Commercial auto covers liability for injury and property damage you cause while driving for the business, plus physical damage to your own vehicles through collision and comprehensive coverage. It also typically includes medical payments and uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage, which matters more than people expect given how many drivers carry state minimums.

The coverage most businesses are missing is hired and non-owned auto. If an employee drives their own car to a client meeting, picks up supplies, or makes a delivery, and causes an accident, your business can be pulled into the claim even though you do not own the vehicle. Their personal policy may exclude the business use entirely. Hired and non-owned auto closes that gap and is usually inexpensive relative to what it covers.

What it does not cover: your employees' commutes to and from work in their own cars, the cargo or property you are hauling, which needs its own coverage, and mechanical breakdown. If you run vehicles subject to DOT authority, there are filing requirements on top of the policy.

Think you are covered correctly now?

Let us take a look at your current coverage.

Send us your current commercial auto policy and your vehicle schedule. We will confirm every vehicle is actually listed, check whether you have hired and non-owned coverage for employees driving their own cars, and look at whether your liability limit is realistic for a serious injury claim. State minimums are not a plan.
